This trek explores three of the most spectacular gorges of the Huascaran National Park, the Downs of Santa Cruz, and Llanganuco Huaripampa. During the four day walk in the heart of the Cordillera Blanca we will have the best Andean scenery. As we walk through ancient Inca roads surrounded by forests and exotic vegetation such as quenuales and quiswar, we will see crystal clear rivers, beautiful lakes and stunning scenery that gives us a view of Punta Union and the main peaks of the Cordillera Blanca...

TREKKING

In this trek we see many peaks over 5,000 meters such as the Huascaran (6768m), the highest peak in Peru, and the Alpamayo (5947m) with its unique pyramid shape, which was ranked in the Global Survey on Scenic Beauty of Munich, Germany, in 1966, as "the world's most beautiful snow. " It was first climbed in 1957.

This spectacular trekking permits us to observe the great diversity of vegetation and wildlife such as condor and deer. The paths of Quilciahuanca and Cojup are joined at the highest point called Huapi (5020m). From this point we will see the following snow covered peaks: Huantzán (6395m), San Juan (5884), Maparaju (5326m), Cashen (5686m and 5716m), Tumarinaraju (5668m), Cayesh (5721m), Andavite (5518), Chinchey (6222m), and other mountains. We also will see condor from this high point.

This delightful trekking, as we also consider accessible trekking, crosses the Cordillera, Callejon de Huaylas to the Conchucos following a path pre-Inca in large part, culminating in the famous temple of Chavin. Here we appreciate the technology and knowledge of astronomy of this ancient culture. On the road you can see the snow Shaqsha (5703m), Uruasraju (5735m), Huantzán (6395m), and we see also the daily lives of the people who live nearby.

The Cordillera Huayhuash is located in central Peru highlands 50 km south of the Cordillera Blanca. Cordillera Huayhuash has 7 mountains over 6,000 m in height and other mountains over 5.500 m. Among them is the second highest mountain of Peru, Yerupaja (6634m.snm), like the Siula Grande (6356m) made famous by the climber Joe Simpson "Touching the Avoid", and others such as Rondoy (5879m), Jirishanca (6094m ) Yerupaja Chico (6121m), Sarapo (6.127 m), Trapeze (5.644 m), Diablo Mudo (5.223 m) and Pumarinri (5.465 m).

It is a short trek in which we see part of the Cordillera Huayhuash, with views of snow capped peaks such as Yerupajá (6634m.snm), the second highest in Peru. We also see others in the Cordillera Huayhuash. This trek is ideal for those do not have time to make the full Huayhuash trek.

This hike is very near the city of Huaraz, and comes with public or private transportation to a small town called Pitec. There we will begin the walk. This lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Cordillera Blanca and is known for its turquoise color. The road is very nice, and you get to the base of Mount Churup. Below this mountain is the lake. This hike is also very good for acclimation, and can be done in 1 or 2 days.

Trekking in the Cordillera Blanca Classic we will see the unique variety of vegetation and wildlife of the area.

This hike starts at Cebollapampa (3950m.snm) where we ascend to the lake. On the way see the variety of vegetation and wildlife. The lake has a beautiful color and is located at 4600 meters at the base of Mount Chacraraju (6100m.snm). This is one of the most beautiful lakes, and is regularly visited by tourists, and has a good view of the Nevados Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Pisco and Yanapapcha. This walk is very good for climatization, and can be completed in one or two days.
